Happy Super Bowl Weekend, Everybody!
Other than the holidays (which go on for-ev-er!), nothing requires more delicious food than the Super Bowl. Football inspired eats and sweets are all over social media and television right now….Are you ready for some football?
As my diet slowly changes with my health issues, I must find new foods that will meet everyone’s needs and taste buds. Luckily, the Paleo realm is able to meet all of my families needs. Remember, Paleo doesn’t have to mean you have to eat meat, meat, and more meat. It is the absence of all grains and certain starchy vegetables…but more on that next time.
Since we are heading over to a friend’s house, I just need to bring some dishes that meet our needs, but still appeal to others that don’t share our ‘issues’….simple enough, right?
Guacamole Deviled Eggs by Jane at In the Pink and Green are new to me this year, but I can hardly stop thinking about how delicious they will be!
Bacon Wrapped Smokies are a guilty pleasure for my family, introduced to us one year by my brother. I was horrified by the ingredients (bacon, smokie sausages, brown sugar) and then again because they tasted so delicous….. I really have to eat just one or two, but they are oh, so good…….
The Raw Almond Butter Cups by Oh She Glows are a family favorite, and will provide a sweet treat for the end of the meal.
Other than that, some veggies and hummus, ((not Paleo-friendly 😦 )) will round out our choices. What are you eating for Super Bowl Sunday?
